Gary J. Loh, Jr., CCIM

Gary has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate business, beginning in 1995 with AmREIT, Inc., a regional development firm that syndicated property investments. Gary achieved his CCIM Designation and was instrumental to the initial growth of the company by acquiring prime located retail properties. While at AmREIT, Gary, conducted leasing, was active with regional and national International Council of Shopping Centers conferences and had helped with the initial raising of investment capital. After helping AmREIT grow and prosper, Gary then joined Transwestern Commercial Services as a manager, responsible for the project leasing of Sam Houston Plaza, a portfolio of four suburban located office buildings and Weslayan Tower, aka 24 Greenway Plaza. Gary was recognized and gained attention for significantly improving occupancy and performance at Sam Houston Plaza as it had been previously underperforming.
After the fall of Enron, Trizec Properties, which later became Brookfield Properties, hired Gary to assist with leasing their 6.9 million square foot portfolio of Class A, downtown office properties at Allen Center and Cullen Center. Enron was the largest tenant in Trizec’s portfolio and Gary provided a significant impact with a large amount of leasing activity, including some prominent tenants, resulting in a much enhanced situation for Trizec. After seeing Gary’s success at Allen Center and Cullen Center, Crescent Real Estate Equities, which was the largest Class A office landlord in Houston at the time, sought Gary’s services to lease Houston Center, located on the other side of downtown. Crescent had just acquired Chevron Tower, then bringing the Houston Center complex up to a total of 4.5 million square feet of office and retail space, consisting of five office buildings and The Park Shops. Gary also contributed to the occupancy and performance improvement of Houston Center with a significant number of transactions, including some notable tenants. It was in 2008, when Crescent Real Estate Equities sold to Morgan Stanley that Gary formed Loh & Co, as a commercial real estate brokerage company. While activity was slow for the first couple years during the recession, Gary developed some strong and loyal relationships and incrementally grew the business each year, assisting clients with tenant representation, property acquisitions and dispositions, and continuing with landlord representation on various properties.
